Hawks Swept By Villanova, 7-0

VILLANOVA - A victory at #3 doubles was all the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team (0-3) could muster, falling to Villanova (2-2), 7-0. Juniors Erika Guers and Alisa Van Meter teamed up for the lone win.

Guers and Van meter battled it out with the Wildcats' Lindsey Puchyr and Daniella Phillis to sneak out a 9-8 victory. VU then took the doubles points as seniors Nicole Morrison and Jess Swanderski fell, 8-3, at #1 and sophomore Gina DiGiacomo and junior Marisa Donelso were topped at #2, 8-2.

Villanova easily swept through the singles matches, sweeping all six points. Hawk freshman Krysta Contino pushed Puchyr to a tie-break in the second set at #5, but but dropped a 6-2, 7-6 decision. DiGiacomo fell 6-4, 6-4 at #4 in the only other tight match.
