TOWSON, MD - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened its 2008-09 season this weekend at the Towson Invitational 4+1. The Hawks faced Loyola, Georgetown and Mount St. Mary's at the tournament, but there was no team scoring at the tournament.

The Hawks' senior Krysta Contino and freshman Melissa Glick each registered singles victories on the weekend. Contino posted a 6-2, 7-6 (10-8) win over Mount St. Mary's Kaitlin Hallahan in the third flight, while Glick earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mount St. Mary's Lauren Clark.

Saint Joseph's hosts Villanova this Wednesday, September 17, at 3 p.m.
