Saint Joseph's Opens Season at Towson Women's Tennis Classic

TOWSON, MD - Playing a grueling three matches in a six-hour span, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened its 2007-08 season Friday at the Town Fall Classic.

The Hawks opened the tournament-format competition this afternoon with a 4-1 victory over Loyola (MD). Following a short gap between games, Saint Joseph's fell just short to Mount St. Mary's, 3-2. In the final match of the day, played just minutes after the second contest, the Hawks fell to a rested George Mason squad, 4-1.

Saint Joseph's caps its play at the Towson Classic with a match versus the host Tigers at 9 a.m. tomorrow, before finishing up with a match versus Johns Hopkins at 1 p.m.
