PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over a Philadelphia University in the team's final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championships. SJU dropped just one match on the afternoon and swept the singles competition.

The Hawks started out by taking the doubles point, thanks to wins at second and third doubles. Senior Michele Savage and sophomore Erika Guers notched an 8-2 win at #2, while freshman Gina DiGiacomo and sophomore Marisa Donelson posted an 8-5 win at #3.

In singles, SJU easily swept the third through sixth slots, while Savage and junior Nicole Morrison need super-tie-breakers to pickup wins at #1 and #2.

Jess Swanderski won 6-0, 6-4 at #3, Guers won 6-0, 6-0 at #4, DiGiacomo was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at #5 and Alisa Van Meter won 6-2, 6-4 at #6. Both Morrison at #1 and Savage at #2 were pushed to super-tie-breaks. Morrison won 6-2, 2-6, 10-5, while Savage was a 6-2, 0-6, 10-8 winner.
