Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Blanks West Chester, 7-0

PHILADELPHIA - Returning to its home court, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team took advantage of playing at Finnesey Courts, topping West Chester 7-0 Thursday afternoon. The victory improves the Hawks' record to 6-14 on the year. Saint Joseph's took the early lead in the match as junior Jennifer Kedzierski and freshman Laura Matz teamed up for a 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, while senior Krysta Contino and sophomore Maggie Mullaney were 8-5 wins at No. 2 doubles to give the Hawks' the doubles' point. In singles competition, the Hawks rolled, sweeping all six singles flights. Kedzierski posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, while Mullaney was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at No. 2 singles. Matz posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while freshman Sally Kalani Stainier was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 4 singles. Contino and sophomore Katy Borden were winners at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively, to earn the full seven points for the Hawks. The loss drops West Chester top 4-7 on the year. Saint Joseph's returns to action March 15 at home against Fordham. Singles
