PHILADELPHIA - Playing without its top two players for the second day in a row, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to NIT, 6-1, Sunday afternoon at the SJU Tennis Complex. The Hawks (4-12) got a victory from the duo of newcomers Tara Walsh and Kate Dowd at No. 3 doubles, topping NJIT's Katie DeRosa and Fanny Aizier, 8-3. The Highlanders rallied though to earn victories at the top two flights to earn the first point of the match. In singles play, Dowd continued to star for Saint Joseph's, posting a 6-0, 6-0 win over DeRosa at the No. 6 position, but the Hawks couldn't earn another point, falling in the top five flights. Saint Joseph's returns to action this Wednesday at Drexel. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start. Singles Doubles
