BALTIMORE, Md. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell at UMBC Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fordham.

Saint Joseph's (3-11) got a strong doubles performance from senior Jennifer Kedzierski and junior Maggie Mullaney at the top flight. However the Hawks team dropped a hard-fought match, 8-6, to UMBC's Alice Chen and Heidi Danielsson. The Retrievers claimed wins in the other two doubles flights to earn the first point of the match.

In singles play, Kedzierski dropped the first match against Chen at the top flight in a tiebreaker, 7-6. UMBC's top player would go on to win the next set, 6-3, and the second point for her team. The Retrievers would go on to win the other five singles matches to earn the 7-0 win.
