Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Drops Marathon Match to Kutztown, 4-3
March 22, 2009 PHILADELPHIA - Playing for over five hours, the Saint Joseph's women's tennis team dropped a thrilling 4-3 match to Kutztown Sunday afternoon at the Saint Joseph's Tennis Courts. The Hawks' won the first match of the day as the duo of junior Jennifer Kedzierski and freshman Laura Matz were 8-6 winners at No. 1 doubles. Unfortunately for SJU, it couldn't earn a win at No. 2 or No. 3 doubles, falling behind 1-0. Switching to singles, Kedzierski topped Rohini Das 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 to even the match, while sophomore Maggie Mullaney gave the Hawks' their second point with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Senior Krysta Contino was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 5 singles for Saint Joseph's, but the Hawks' couldn't get another win as Kutztown posted three singles victories to earn the win. Doubles Singles
