March 10, 2010 ORLANDO, Fla. - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened its Spring Break competition against a strong Creighton team Wednesday afternoon at Star Island. Despite several strong performances, the Hawks fell 7-0 to the Bluejays. Creighton captured the first point of the match, sweeping all three doubles events. The Hawks fought back in singles matches, with junior Maggie Mullaney and freshman Nicole Esposito going to three sets. Unfortunately for SJU, Creighton's Anna Kirshenbaum and Kelsey Schmidt earned the three-set wins over Mullaney and Esposito, respectively, as the Bluejays earned all six singles points. Saint Joseph's (2-9) continues its play in Orlando, Florida on Thursday against South Dakota State. Singles Doubles
