PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's softball team, along with Temple, are hosting the 2009 Rocci Pignoli Mizuno Fall Memorial Tournament this Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th, at Temple's Ambler Sports Complex.

The Hawks will open play Saturday versus Rutgers at noon and face Caldwell at 4 p.m. Temple, Delaware, Rider and Mount St. Mary's round out this weekend's tournament.

The tournament is named after former Temple head coach Rocci Pignoli, who passed away in 2007. Serving as the Owls' head coach for eight seasons, Pignoli led the Owls to the 2004 A-10 title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. A colleague and friend, Saint Joseph's current head coach, Terri Adams, was an assistant coach with Pignoli from 1998-2005.
