Paine Named to Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team

DAYTON, OH - Saint Joseph's senior women's soccer forward Alisha Paine was recognized for her outstanding performance at this past weekend's Atlantic 10 Championship, earning a selection to the A-10 All-Championship Team.

In Thursday's quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship, Paine registered two shots in the Hawks' 2-1 season-ending loss to Dayton.

An Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team selection, Paine posted team-bests in goals (nine), assists (five) and points (23). Making a move from the backfield to forward prior to the season, Paine finished the season third all-time in single-season goals, third in single-season points and tied for second in single-season assists. A four-year starter, Paine will graduate this May fourth all-time in program history in points (34), fifth in goals (13) and tied for seventh in assists (eight).

A star on the field, Paine also excelled off it, becoming the first Hawk in program history to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Team. An elementary and special education major with a 3.342 grade-point-average, Paine earned a spot on the All-District 2 Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The 2005 season marked the third straight season the Hawks have advanced to the A-10 Championship. Saint Joseph's posted an 8-9-3 overall record and 4-3-2 Atlantic 10 record.
