Wean Named to Soccer Times Player of the Week Honor Roll
Oct. 26, 2006 PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's senior forward Ali Wean has been named to the Soccer Times Honor Roll after her nine-point performance over the weekend. The reigning Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week, Wean tallied four goals and one assist as SJU went 1-1. On Friday, Wean scored a pair of goals at Saint Louis. The senior opened the scoring for the Hawks, and tied the game at two apiece after they trailed 2-0. Versus Duquesne on Sunday, the senior assisted on the opening Saint Joseph's goal, and added two second-half goals, including the game winner, in SJU's 4-2 win over the Dukes. For the season, Wean has collected a team-best 10 goals and four assists to lead the squad with 24 points. Her 24 points over the first 16 games is the third-best single-season mark in program history and has helped Wean move into third all-time in scoring with 48 points. Saint Joseph's (6-10, 3-4 Atlantic 10) returns to action Friday, October 27 when they host St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m.
