PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team's sophomore Mo Hawkins has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week after starring in the Hawks' 7-1 win over Temple on Friday. Accounting for three of Saint Joseph's goals and assisting on another, Hawkins tallied seven points against the Owls to boost her season totals to a team-leading eight goals and 18 points. Chipping in right away, Hawkins assisted on the game's first goal as she found teammate Jen Pfeiffer open inside the Temple box for a goal in the ninth minute. Hawkins scored her first goal of the match in the 16th minute as she received a pass from Maggie Lupinski and beat the Owls' goalkeeper to give the Hawks a 2-0 edge. She would add her second goal of the game less than eight minutes later off as a crossing pass from teammate Nicole King that slipped through the hands of the Temple goalkeeper and allowed Hawkins to head in Saint Joseph's third goal. With the Hawks up by three, Hawkins completed the hat trick in the 63rd minute off another assist from King. Taking a pass and dribbling toward the Owls' box, Hawkins drilled a shot from 30 yards out that found the back of the netting to open up a 4-0 advantage for SJU. Hawkins shared the weekly conference award with La Salle's Renee Washington. The award is Hawkins first of the year. The Hawks return to action this Friday at Dayton. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Baujan Field.
