SCHUTT EARNS ATLANTIC 10 CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

PHILADELPHIA (09/08/03) -- After recording a hat-trick in her first collegiate home game, freshman Megan Schutt has been honored by the Atlantic 10 as its Co-Rookie of the Week. The Ontario native shares the award with Dayton goalkeeper Sarah West. Schutt tallied three goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 home win over Drexel on Tuesday. It was the most goals scored by a Hawk since Lisa Benvenuto set the school record with four in a 6-1 win over Temple on September 26, 1999. She is the first Hawk to earn the honor since Michelle Carmosky was named the conference's rookie of the week on September 30, 2002. The forward currently leads the Atlantic 10 in goals (3) and is second in points (6). The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team is off until Sunday, September 14 when it hosts Stony Brook at 11:00 a.m.
