DELAWARE DOWNS HAWK WOMEN, 4-0, IN OPENER
NEWARK, DE (08/29/03) -- The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Delaware on Friday night to open the 2003 campaign. Senior Francesca Termini notched a pair of goals to become only the fifth player in Delaware women's soccer history to score 20 career goals.
Termini opened the scoring just over 15 minutes into the game, beating Hawks' sophomore goalkeeper Nicole DiEnna (eight saves) in a one on one situation for the only goal of the first half.
The Hens sealed the victory over the Hawks with three goals in the second half. Delaware (1-0) outshot Saint Joseph's (0-1) 23-4 and managed eight corner kicks to the Hawks' two.
The Hawks are now winless in their last 11 games dating back to last season. St. Joe's returns to action on Tuesday evening for the home opener versus Drexel. Start time is 7:00 p.m.
