WOMEN'S SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2003 SLATE

PHILADELPHIA (04/09/03) -- Three NCAA Tournament teams and two non-conference opponents that appeared in the league finals highlight the 2003 Saint Joseph's women's soccer schedule, announced by head coach Jess Reynolds. In 2002, the Atlantic 10 sent three clubs to the NCAAs in Dayton, Richmond and Rhode Island. The Hawks will try to knock off all three, including a home matchup with URI. The non-conference slate features two teams, Monmouth and Stony Brook, that reached the finals of their league championships. Monmouth was in the NEC Championship and fell to Central Connecticut State in penalty kicks, while Stony Brook fell to Hartford in the America East Championship. SJU will make its earlier start in program history in the season opener at Delaware on August 29. The Hawks host Drexel in the home opener on September 2. Saint Joseph's is coming off a 4-12-1 season, 1-9-1 in the Atlantic 10.
