KINGSTON, RI (10/25/02)--Rhode Island continued their torrid Atlantic 10 play on Friday night as the Rams defeating visiting Saint Joseph's, 2-0, in Kingston. For the Hawks, it was their eighth straight contest without a win. URI (11-4-1, 7-1-0) got on the board in the 25th minute on a Heather Kasparek goal and added an insurance tally in the 86th minute by Claire Landon. Hawks (4-9-1, 1-6-1) goalkeeper Christy Ganc made eight saves in the defeat. SJU was outshot 21-6 in the contest and were at a 8-2 disadvantage in corner kicks. Saint Joseph's returns to action on Sunday at UMass. Game time is 1:00 pm.
