Saint Joseph's Women's Soccer Falls at Richmond, 4-0

RICHMOND, VA - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team fell at Richmond Friday evening, 4-0. The Hawks (3-14-0, 1-8-0 Atlantic 10) travel to George Washington for a 3 p.m. match Sunday.

The Spiders (5-10-2, 4-3-2 A-10) opened the scoring right away as Richmond's Carrie Holland booted a rebound into the net just :39 into the game.

Richmond's offense kept coming from there as it outshot Saint Joseph's 21-3 in the first stanza.

Jesse Wolfe put the Spiders ahead 2-0 at 19:44 as she headed in free kick off the foot of teammate Kristen Stalter. Richmond would add its third goal before halftime from Anne Hassel as the Richmond forward converted a pass from Holland and beat SJU's keeper at 36:33.

It was more of the same in the second half as Richmond held another large shot advantage, this time 13-1, to secure the win. Holland tallied her second goal of the game off a corner kick at 83:39.

For the game Richmond outshot the Hawks 34-4 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Individually for Saint Joseph's, sophomore Sarah O'Malley registered two shots, while senior Kelly Galen and freshman Raeann Groves each fired one shot apiece.
