POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The first goal of Saint Joseph's freshman Maggie Lupinski's young career proved to be a decisive one as the Hawks women's soccer team topped Marist, 2-1, in double overtime Sunday afternoon.

After trailing 1-0 after early into the second half, Saint Joseph's tied the game at 1-1 at 64:48 as freshman Jen Pfeiffer tallied her team-leading third goal of the season.

Both teams played to a stand still over the remaining 45 minutes of regulation and first overtime.

Marist (1-4), which was out shot 9-7, got on the board 1-0 in the first half on a goal by Mallory Inglese as she took a crossing pass from teammate Mariah Downey and beat Saint Joseph's SJU junior goalkeeper Megan Bastianelli to the upped right hand quarter at the 50:34 mark.

The Hawks return to action this Friday, September 19, at home versus Delaware. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
