Helping Saint Joseph's consistently improve its goalkeeping, Jim Bollinger begins his third season as an assistant coach at Hawk Hill. Joining Jess Reynolds' staff in 2008, Bollinger helped bolster Saint Joseph's goalkeeping, improving wins, save percentage and lowering goals allowed by 19. This past year, Bollinger was instrumental in the Hawks' stellar play in goal, helping Christine Neal earn Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team honors. Additionally, the Hawks ranked fourth in the conference with posted single-season best 1.07 goals against average. Bollinger came to Saint Joseph's after a four-year stint as a volunteer assistant coach at La Salle and three years as a volunteer assistant and athletic training consultant at Villanova. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach with his collegiate team at Gettysburg College. Bollinger currenly serves as an athletic trainer for US Soccer. Working with U.S. Soccer and youth teams, he accompanied the Men's National Team as it advanced to the finals of the 2009 Confederations Cup. He previously spent 10 seasons as the head athletic trainer for the Philadelphia KiXX. |
