Women's Rowing Gets Two Early Commitments

Nov. 28, 2005

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's Women's Rowing Team has announced the signing of two student-athletes, Christina DiSanto and Andrea Hartfield, to National Letters of Intent for the 2006-07 seasons.

"We are very impressed with the character and leadership abilities of Christina and Andi," said Saint Joseph's Head Coach Gerry Quinlan. "In our early signings we look for the intangibles of great athletes and leaders along with general athleticism. In Christina and Andi we have the whole package, besides their superb rowing/coxing ability they will make everyone around them better by their character and work ethic."

DiSanto, a 5-10 native of Sewell, NJ, is a four-year oarswoman for Bishop Eustace Prep. She captured several team awards and helped the Crusaders capture various medals.

Hartfield is a former rower and current coxswain for the Wilmington Youth Rowing Association. The student at Bishop Shanahan in West Chester has a great command of the boat and fantastic knowledge of the sport.
