PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team announced its 2006-07 novice team today as head coach Gerry Quinlan welcomed 33 new Hawks to the 2006 Dad Vail Championship squad.

Coming of its best season in 36 years, Saint Joseph's had one of its largest groups tryout for the team this fall as nearly 10 percent of incoming freshman women tried out.

"We are excited about this year's class," Quinlan said. "Their athleticism and enthusiasm has been superb and a spark for the entire team."

The Hawks open the 2006-07 October 14 at the Navy Day Regatta.
