WOMEN'S ROWERS SHINE AT KNECHT CUP IN A-10 TUNEUP
CAMDEN, NJ (4/18/04) - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team flashed its wares against some of the nation's top program's over the weekend, turning in a strong effort at the Knecht Cup. The women posted solid finishes, placing third in the 2nd Varsity 8
and fifth in the Lightweight 4 Grand Finals.
Doubling up into five races and making the grand in both the 2nd Varsity 8 and Lightweight 4 was an unbelieveable feat against the level of competition. The Varsity 8 and Freshman 8 advanced to the petit finals after struggling through the semifinals. In the petit the Varsity 8 showed real grit sprinting past Villanova to claim second place just behind Kansas. This Saturday are the Atlantic 10 Women's Conference Championships on the Cooper River.
