HAWK WOMEN PICK UP TWO MEDALS AT MURPHY CUP ::

PHILADELPHIA (3/27/04) - The Hawk women's rowing team picked up a pair of medals and narrowly missed a third during a successful day at the Murphy Cup. The Second Varsity Eight claimed a silver medal to highlight the afternoon for SJU.

The Second V8 (6:56.02) was nip and tuck with Navy (6:55.50) as the two boats pulled away from the pack, but Navy edged SJU in the final stroke to defeat the Hawks by less than a second.

The Freshman 8, meanwhil took a silver in a time of 7:20.00. The Varsity 8 finished fourth, 1.5 second out of third.
