CAMDEN, NJ (4/13/03) - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team sent its freshman crews to the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. to compete at the Knecht Cup on Sunday and finished with mixed results. The Hawks' Second Freshman 8 earned a silver medal, while the Freshman 8 finished fifth. The Second Freshman 8 (8:08.10) finished a distant second to West Virginia, but ahead of A-10 rival Massachusetts that finished third. The Frosh 8, meanwhile, covered the course in 7:25.30 to finish fifth in its race. The Varsity women were slated to race at the George Washington Invitational, but did not make the trip to Washington, D.C. The Hawk women will next compete at the Murphy Cup on the Schuylkill River on Saturday.
