WOMEN'S ROWING WINS TWO GOLD MEDALS IN SAN DIEGO
SAN DIEGO, CA, (04/06/03)- The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team traveled two boats across country this weekend, and came away with two gold medals. Competing in the 2003 San Diego Crew Classic, the varsity eight won the Women's Cal Cup third level, defeating UC-Irvine by six tenths of a second. The Hawk novice boat won the Women's College Novice Petite final, easily besting UC-Davis, USC and Stanford.
The varsity eight, which just missed qualifying for the top final on Saturday, also bested Temple, Villanova, Santa Clara and UC-Santa Barbara. On Saturday, the varsity eight also downed a tough Clemson eight.
