WOMEN'S ROWERS OPEN SEASON WITH SOLID EFFORT AT JESUIT INVITE

CAMDEN, NJ (3/22/03) - Paced by its freshman crews, the Hawk women's rowing team got off to a fantastic start to the spring at the Fourth Annual Jesuit Invitational Regatta held on the Cooper RIver. Taking to the water against Jesuit rivals Boston College, Fairfield, Fordham, Georgetown, Holy Cross, and Loyola, the Hawks were in the hunt in every race and established itself as a team to reckon with the remainder of the season. The Second Freshman 8 won a silver medal by just :03 seconds to Fairfield. SJU's Freshman 4 also won a bronze. The Hawks Varsity 4, Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8 boats each placed fourth in their respective races.
