Hawks Perform Well at Frostbite Regatta
Philadelphia (11/11/00) - The St. Joseph's women's rowing team
turned in strong performances at the Frostbite Regatta held on the
Schuylkill River on Saturday.
This year's regatta stayed true to its name as it was a blustery, cold
afternoon on the Schuylkill. The Hawks first took the water in the
Women's Freshmen 8 A, which squared off with Ithaca, Bucknell,
Delaware, Temple, and Marietta. SJU finished a strong fifth out of the
top six teams with a time of 8:01. The Freshmen B boat also had a
strong field including Bucknell B, La Salle A, Franklin & Marshall and
Marietta. They finished third in the heat of six.
