ETON, U.K. - Renee Hykel, a 2001 SJU graduate, joined with Julie Nichols to advance directly to the semifinals of lightweight double at the World Championships in Eton, United Kingdom.

Hykel and Nichols won their heat in a time of 6:57, beating Ireland by two seconds.

The duo combined to win a silver medal in last year's race and will compete again on Friday in the semifinals.
