PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team will participate in the 72nd Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta on Friday and Saturday, which annually serves as the culmination of the season. Racing begins on the Schuylkill River on Friday morning. The Hawks will be boating a Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Freshman 8, and Freshman 4. The Womens V8, 2nd Varsity 8 and Freshmen 8 are all seeded in the top six (6th, 3rd and 4th, respectively). "We know that a seed is just a perk for a season well-done -but it is nice to get the respect of the other coaches. We also know that is all you get and now we have to back it up by advancing with every race and pullin g that perfect Grand Final," said coach Gerry Quinlan. "The eights have been putting together some great rows in practice and are looking to push through. The Varsity 8 has had a very solid season finishing first or second in 10 of 11 races. Our goal for all of our boats in the beginning of the season is to win Dad Vail. And I think at this point it is anybody's race. It is going to be exciting," said Quinlan. Streaming of the races will be available thru DadVailTV, which can be found at the regatta's website- www.dadvail.org. To link to DadVailTV, and for all results and schedules, click here.
