Smith Signs Letter of Intent for SJU Women's Rowing

May 3, 2007

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's women's rowing signed scholastic standout Colleen Smith to a National Letter of Intent to attend the University in the Fall 2007, it was announced by coach Gerry Quinlan.

Smith is a two-sport athlete at Ocean City High School, achieving success in swimmming and rowing.

She is the third South Jersey student-athlete to sign with the Hawks, joining current high school teammate Danielle Brady (Ocean City H.S.) along with BriAnne Kammerman of Holy Spirit High School. Smith and Brady have been teaming up to help Ocean City to a successful season this spring.

"We are very excited about the future of our team with the addition of the three student-athletes from South Jersey," said Quinlan. "They will join a team that graduates one senior this season and has the potential to work up into the upper echelon of the collegiate rowing circuit for the future."
