Hawk Rowers Claim Shoreboy Regatta

Ventnor, NJ - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing varsity team posted a successful day in its final competition of the fall as the Hawks varsity women's 8's placed first and fourth, respectively, at the Shoreboy Regatta.

Winding through the challenging course, consisting of a mile straight-away, followed by a single lane bridge, a narrow "s"-turn and a final mile straight, SJU won the seven-team race. Saint Joseph's "a' boat, consisting of coxswain Andi Hartfield, Liz Sauter, Lauren Sysol, Kaitie Reehill, Christina DiSanto, Meg Henry, Alicia Easby-Smith, Lauren Rozsits and Debbie Bateman, won the race in a time of 16:04.

The Hawks' "b" squad, made up of coxswain Kristen Bonnici, Alison Toner, Jeanne Wells, Hilary Armstrong, Kelly McKinley, Meg Stanton, Kate MacTurk, Kaitlin Weston and Liz Golden, finished a very strong fourth in 17:03.

Saint Joseph's returns to action Saturday, November 11, at the Frostbite Regatta on the Schuylkill.
