WORCESTER, MA - A bronze medal by the Freshman 8 highlighted an impressive afternoon of racing for the Saint Joseph's women's rowing team at the 2006 ECAC Metro Championships held at Lake Quinsigamond. As a team the Hawks advanced five boats to the finals and placed eighth out of 13 teams.

Both the Freshman 8 and Lightweight 8 advanced to the Grand Finals. The frosh placed third in a time of 7:28.71. The Lightweights, meanwhile finished fifth (7:39.16).

Three other SJU crew reached the petite finals with both the Varsity 8 (7:18.85) and Second Varsity 8 (7:27.88) placing first. The Varsity 4 placed sixth in the petite.
