Women's Rowing Sweeps Second-Day Races at GW Invitational

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team took on a number of Eastern Sprint Teams this weekend at the GW Invitational in Washington, DC, with the Varsity Eight sweeping the races on the second day. The Hawks Varsity Eight beat Navy, GW, Georgetown, MIT, and Colgate. The Hawk V8 dropped their race on Friday to Columbia. The Freehman Eight and Second Varsity Eight both won their final races of the weekend against Georgetown while the Varsity Four had itsbest row of the season taking Colgate in the final race of the weekend. "We looked a bit sluggish on Friday across the board. It was a short week for us and we are loading for the A10s. We were much better prepared on Saturday. This is always a great event and we are very pleased with our results," said head coach Gerry Quinlan. Full results can be found at www.row2k.com.
