WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team had a solid weekend in the Nation's Capital, competing at the GW Invitational Regatta. The weekend of racing was a dual format with pre-assigned races. The Hawks drew University of Central Florida, Columbia and the U.S. Naval Academy as their competitors.

The lineup was: c- Clare Burns; 8- Brianne Kammerman; 7- Katie Herdmann; 6- Christina DiSanto; 5- Colleen Greway; 4- Danielle Brady; 3- Colleen Smith; 2- Lauren Rozsits; and 1- Bridget Dempsey.

The 2nd Varsity 8 was changed this week in preparation for the re-vamped Atlantic 10 Championships and the Hawks improved with every race this weekend. The Hawks' Second Varsity 8 avenged an early-season loss to Navy by beating the Midshipmen by three seconds. "We posted a solid second place to UCF, never giving the Golden Knights separation and posted a loss to Columbia. This was a good weekend for the 2V," said Quinlan. That boat consisted of c- Andi Hartfield, 8- Tina Regan, 7- Rachel Shustack, 6- Ashley Wollman, 5- Moira Schanne, 4- Jenni Broring, 3- Angela Acuña, 2- Sarah Bell, 1- Meaghan Scher.

The 3V consisted of c- Kate Messina or Molly Murray, 8- Meg McCabe, 7- Gabby Parker, 6- Brittany Roth, 5- Kaitlin Scher, 4- Emily McVan, 3- Elisa Miller 2- Anna Martucci, and 1- Jess Romano.

The Fours put together some solid racing with the V4-B winning one over UCF as well as Georgetown and GW. The Varsity 4 was: c- Betsy Thompson, 4- Ariana McDevitt, 3- Julie Shillington, 2- Erin Butler, 1- Jackie Castorino. The Varsity 4-B was: c- Kate Messina or Molly Murray, 4- Juliet Lee, 3- Brittany Middleman, 2- Alex Karls, and 1- Alison Jacobs.

Saint Joseph's now will prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held on Saturday, April 17 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. The Hawks are the defending champions in the Varsity 8 and Varsity 4.
