SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing Varsity Eight came from behind to edge Sacramento State to win the Cal Cup Grand Final at the San Diego Crew Classic.

The Hawks advanced easily out of Saturday's heats to reach the Grand Final. Sacramento State took the early lead, but SJU took over after 30 strokes and then never trailed in a tight race. The Hawks dictated the speed and topped Sacramento State and Kansas State by two seconds.
