Women's Rowing Captures Jesuit Invitational for Third Straight Year

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - The Saint Joseph's women's rowing team won the Jesuit Invitational for the third year in a row in the annual race hosted by SJU at Cooper River. The Hawks' men's and women's teams combined to win the Cannonball Trophy, signifying the overall points champion.

The Hawks swept the Eights for the second straight year, defeating Boston College, Loyola and Fairfield.

The Varsity 8 captured its race by more than 13 seconds over Loyola, BC and Fairfield. The Hawks Second Varsity 8 battled Boston College all the way and pulled out a win by four seconds.

The Freshman 8 and Freshman 4 boats bested the field also by open water.

SJU's Varsity 4 rowed a strong race, finishing fourth.

Next up for the Hawks is a trip to the San Diego Crew Classic on March 27, where they will defend their Varsity 8 title.
