Women's Rowing Begins 2007 Where 2006 Left Off
March 10, 2007
PHILADELPHIA - The Hawks began the 2007 Season at home on Saturday against Delaware, Lehigh and Drexel. The headwind built throughout the morning but the Hawks handled the conditions well winning four out of five races to begin the 2007 Season. The Hawks managed to take control of races early, to set the pace for the field in all of the winning performances. The Varsity 8 took control of the race right from the start to pace the field through the whole 2000m -besting second place by 16 seconds. The 2nd Varsity, Varsity 4 and Freshman 4 all won their races handily. The Freshman 8, however, struggled with falling behind early to Lehigh and were unable to move together to get back into contention. This was a very successful start to the 2007 season for the young Hawk squad. The Hawks are back in action on Saturday, March 17th, when they host the Jesuit Invitational Regatta.
