Women's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Second in Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll

PHILADELPHIA - The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team, finalists of the 2009 Atlantic 10 championship, has been picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 in 2010, according to a poll of the Atlantic 10's head coaches.

The Hawks return 2009 A-10 Coach of the Year, Denise Roessler and leading scorer Jenna Martino. The senior led the team in goals (57), assists (19), and points (76) in 2009 and will look for offensive help from two 2009 All-Rookie team selections. Meghan McDevitt was third on the team in goals (32) and added six assists while Julie Mineweaser tied for second in assists (10) and tallied 16 goals.

Massachusetts has been selected to repeat as the 2010 Atlantic 10 lacrosse champion, while Duquesne and Richmond tied for third in the voting.

The four-team A-10 Championship will be held April 23-25 at Duquesne University's Rooney Field in Pittsburgh, Pa.
