PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse dropped a 9-7 decision to Lehigh on Saturday afternoon at Finnesey Field. Jenna Martino and Grace Dinn each netted three goals for the Hawks. Saint Joseph's jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half but Lehigh's free position goal at the 16:12 mark would be the start of Lehigh's 7-2 run over the Hawks. The run brought the Mountain Hawks back from a 3-0 deficit to tie the game, 5-5, at the break. In the second half, Lehigh converted on two free position shots in the first two minutes of play to put them up by two. At the 20:15 mark Dinn scored a free position goal to bring the Hawks back within one but one minute later Lehigh's Lauren Dykstra slipped a ball past SJU goalkeeper, Alisha Aquilino. The Mountain Hawks took their biggest lead (3-0) of the game with a goal with 12:34 on the clock. The two teams battled for the next 10 minutes and Martino wrapped up all scores with just under four minutes left for a 9-7 final. Aquilino finished with seven saves between the pipes. The Hawks return to action when they travel to Rutgers on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m game start. Photos from today's game can be seen at Sidephotos.com
