Field Hockey's Anne Schreuders Named to Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Thursday that Saint Joseph's senior Anne Schreuders was chosen for the 2009 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region Second Team. It is the first All-Region honor for Schreuders. Schreuders led the Hawks in goals (12) and points (31) this season and ranked second on the team with seven assists. Her single-season goal total is tied for eighth in program history while her point total is tied for the sixth-best mark. She finished the season tied for second in the Atlantic 10 in points and tied for third in goals. For her career, Schreuders tallied 23 goals (tied for ninth-most in SJU history), 18 assists (tied for eighth), and 64 points (tied for seventh). She is one of just five players in program annals to reach the career top 10 in all three categories. The Dutch native is scheduled to participate in this year's NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C. as well. She is the first Saint Joseph's player to be named to the All-Star Game since 2005.
