Anne Schreuders Selected for NFHCA Division I Senior All-Star Game

CHANDLER, Ariz. - Saint Joseph's senior field hockey standout Anne Schreuders has been selected to participate in Saturday's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior All-Star Game. Schreuders will join the nation's top senior field hockey players at the event held at the NCAA Field Hockey Final Four in Winston-Salem, N.C. She is the first SJU player to participate since Katelyn O'Brien in 2005. Schreuders led the Hawks in goals (12) and points (31) this season and ranked second on the team with seven assists. Her single-season goal total is tied for eighth in program history while her point total is tied for the sixth-best mark. For her career, Schreuders tallied 23 goals (tied for ninth-most in SJU history), 18 assists (tied for eighth), and 64 points (tied for seventh). She is one of just five players in program annals to reach the career top 10 in all three categories. The format for this season's All-Star event features the Division I Senior All-Stars and the United States National Team. The All-Stars will face off against each other as well as the National Team in four 25-minute sessions. The event, hosted by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, begins at 5:30 Saturday evening at Kentner Stadium on the campus of Wake Forest University. After the game, there will be a brief awards ceremony where all of the seniors are honored by the NFHCA for their participation.
