Antonini Named to All-Mid-Atlantic Field Hockey Team

Nov. 18, 2004

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's University's Nicole Antonini has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team. The record-setting sophomore recently concluded one of the most prolific offensive seasons in school history, helping SJU to an 11-8 record and a fourth straight berth in the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament.

Antonini is the tenth different Hawk player to receive All-Mid-Atlantic Region recognition since 1986. She is the first SJU player to be cited since Brett Dymarczyk was named to the Second Team in 2001.

The Collegeville Pa. native finished the year with 15 goals, 15 assists and 45 points. Her 15 helpers eclipsed the SJU single season mark of 13 set by Janna Watts in 1996. She also matched the Hawk single game record with four assists in a victory over Robert Morris. Her 45 points rank as the third highest single season total in program history, while her 15 goals stand fourth.

The 2003 Methacton high School graduate has totaled 24 goals, 18 assists and 66 points in just two seasons in crimson and Gray. She already ranks fourth in career points, fifth in assists and sixth in goals.

The 2003 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year was twice cited as the League's Player of the Week this season (10/4, 11/1) and was also tabbed to the A-10 All-Conference First Team for the second consecutive year.
