Antonini and Cunfer Receive Final Weekly A-10 Field Hockey Awards

PHILADELPHIA - 1's University sophomore Nicole Antonini and freshman Rebecca Cunfer have been named the Atlantic 10 Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday October 31. It is the second time that each has picked up the Conference's weekly awards.

Antonini scored a hat trick and added an assist for seven points in SJU's 6-0 victory over Georgetown on Wednesday. She then assisted on all three Hawk goals in a 3-1 win over Temple on Saturday that clinched a berth in the A-10 Tournament. She finished the week with three goals and four assists. She also broke the SJU single season record for assists and now has 15. The previous mark of 13 was established by Janna Watts in 1996. Antonini ranks among the national leaders in scoring with 15 goals, 15 assists and 45 points.

Cunfer, meanwhile recorded her sixth shutout of the season in Wednesday's a 6-0 blanking of Georgetown, the most by an SJU freshman since 1985. She allowed just one goal in SJU's 3-1 win over Temple that clinched a berth in the A-10 Tournament.

SJU returns to action on Friday against Massachusetts in the opening round of the A-10 Conference Tournament.
