LATE OT GOAL LIFTS DREXEL OVER SJU IN FIELD HOCKEY

PHILADELPHIA (9/18/03) - Drexel (2-4) knocked home a goal with just 12 seconds remaining in overtime to defeat Saint Joseph's (3-2) 1-0 in field hockey action on Finnesey Field. An evenly played match, neither team could piece together many significant offensive opportunities, as play bogged down in the midfield. After a scoreless regulation, both teams took advantage of the seven-on-seven in overtime to get out and counter attack. Both team's had a couple of good opportunities that were thwarted and it appeared that the game was slated for stokes, as a Drexel's Caliann Bogovic sped down the right wing and then chopped the ball to the near post, where Rachel Babcock was able to redirect the ball into the Hawk net for the win. Junior Courtney Huff had four saves for SJU in goal, while her counterpart DU's Katie Dougherty made three stops. The game was originally scheduled for 7:00 PM, but was moved to 1:00 PM due to impending inclement weather.
