FIELD HOCKEY TEAM WALKS FOR HUNGER
PHILADELPHIA (4/12/03) - Members of the Saint Joseph's University field hockey team put their best foot forward over the weekend by participating in the 2003 Walk Against Hunger sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger. The team walked the 8-mile loop from the Philadelphia Museum of Art to the Falls Bridge and back.
The Walk Against Hunger brings people together to raise funds to assist struggling families in the Philadelphia region with food. The money raised at the Walk Against Hunger is distributed to organizations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania that provide food and other services to families and individuals.
Sophomore Emily Mannion, a food marketing major, and the Saint Joseph's Food Marketing Faculty organized shuttle busses, which enabled the team to complete the walk.
