SJU SKID REACHES SEVEN WITH 3-0 LOSS AT LEHIGH

Bethlehem, PA (10/21/00)— Sophomore goalie Margo Smith earned her fourth shutout of the season, making six saves and freshman Blaire Goodwin had a goal and an assist to help Lehigh end a four-game losing streak by defeating St. Joseph's, 3-0. The Hawks streak, meanwhile, reached seven games in what has become a frustrating season for SJU coach Joan Broderick and her team. Smith would make five saves in the first half including a penalty stroke to keep SJU off the scoreboard. Goodwin helped set up junior Michelle Wildgen's goal, the eventual game-winner, at the 22:21 mark of the first half. Goodwin would then add one of her own just five minutes later with an unassisted tally. Senior Patrice Alvino would close out the scoring at the 32:03 mark of the second half, with assists from Jenny Lehman and Jane Knowles. Lauren Bradley recorded five saves in goal for SJU. The Hawks return home for a match with Ursinus on Sunday (11:00 AM). SJU will honor its seniors, Mary Kate Brislin and Carly Anne Pasceri tomorrow as well.
