#20 DREXEL DOWNS ST. JOSEPH'S IN OVERTIME, 2-1

PHILADELPHIA (9/19/00) - Drexel scored just 0:57 seconds into overtime to lift the Dragons to a 2-1 victory over St. Joseph's at Franklin Field. The defeat dropped the Hawks' record to 3-5 on the season. SJU took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half against the host Dragons, who were ranked #20 in the most recent NFHCA Poll. Freshman Kris Teklinsky picke up the goal, when she redirected a blast by fellow rookie Amie Schmoltze from the top of the circle. The goal was the first of Teklinsky's career. The contest, which had remained relatively ballaced for much of the game, swung in Drexel's favor when DU tallied midway through the seond half. A tremendous individual effort, the Dragon forward beat a defender before knocking the ball home. The goal came just minutes after a St. Joseph's timeout. The contest was delayed approximately ten minutes at the outset due to heavy rains. The defeat snapped a two-game Hawk win streak over their intracity rivals. The Cityliners return to action on Sunday, when they travel to Piscataway, N.J. for a matchup with Rutgers.
