Box Score

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Krista Bordogna scored three goals and junior Kellie Walter added a fourth as the Saint Joseph's field hockey team bounced back from Tuesday's defeat to shut out the Saint Francis (Pa.) Red Flash, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Drexel's Buckley Field. Goalkeepers Kelly Swanick and Gabriella Schrier combined for the shutout.

Saint Joseph's (8-3) dominated from start to finish as Bordogna scored the opener just 50 seconds into the game on a feed from senior Marisa Pizzi to the front of the cage. It was déjà vu all over again for the Hawks 31 seconds later as Pizzi took off down the wing and sent a pass in to Bordogna, who slotted it home to stake SJU to a 2-0 lead just 1:21 into the game.

Bordogna was not finished for the day, as she tipped a long shot by Walter into the cage with just under 14 minutes to go in the period to send the Hawks into the break with a 3-0 lead.

Saint Francis (1-10) did not manage a shot in the first half, while Saint Joseph's took 10.

The second half was more of the same as SJU outshot the Red Flash 10-3, and Walter put the finishing touches on the day's proceedings with her team-leading eighth goal of the season with 13:21 remaining.

Swanick got the start in the cage for the Hawks, while Schrier played the second half and made two saves. Erin Reifsteck was busy for Saint Francis, tallying four saves in each half.

The Hawks will head right back out to Buckley Field tomorrow for a 3:00 p.m. contest with #16 Rutgers.
