PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's junior Mariame Djouara has been named both the Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week of December 1-7. The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 23.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, while playing 43.5 minutes per game as she helped the Hawks to a 1-1 mark last week.

Versus Philadelphia Big 5 rival Villanova on Thursday, Djouara poured in a career-best 32 points on 13-of-30 shooting, including 1-of-2 from three-point range and 5-of-7 from the foul line in the Hawks' 66-57 triple-overtime win. Playing 51 of a possible 55 minutes, she also added six rebounds and three assists as Saint Joseph's improved to 2-0 in City Series competition.

Djouara kept the momentum going into Saturday's contest at Hartford, she tallied 15 points, three rebounds and two steals against the Hartford Hawks.

For the year, Djouara is second on SJU in scoring (12.1 points per game) and assists (13), while averaging 26.6 minutes per game. She leads Saint Joseph's (4-4) into action this Friday when the Hawks travel to Old Dominion for a 7 p.m. tip at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.
